Virtual Days

Computer Care

  • Drink and food free zone!
  • When moving/carrying computers – keep them closed & hug them as you walk.
  • Store and keep cords and computers in a safe place and away from pets and siblings.
  • Be safe online – DO NOT visit unsafe or inappropriate websites. Even when you are at home you are responsible for using good judgement.
  • Even from home everything you do is monitored by BCS.
  • Keep your computer charged and ready to go.

    Email

  • Check your email at least twice a day.
  • Read the emails carefully before you ask questions. Lots of questions will be answered in the emails.
  • Save all important emails for example: emails that have passwords or instructions.
  • Keep emails organized. Your teacher will help you make labels for your emails.
  • When you respond to an email make sure you are not responding to “all”.
  • Be patient do not send the same email over and over to your teacher, we will respond to you as soon as possible.

    Video Call (Zoom, Google Meet)

  • Make sure you are in a good space, dressed, and ready to learn.
  • Join the Zoom meetings on time.
  • Once your teacher lets you into the meeting, mute yourself and make sure your video is on.
  • Make sure you are paying attention and participating.
  • Do not get distracted or distract your friends. Keep pets, siblings, and other distractions at a minimum. We will have time to occasionally share these things but NOT during teaching time.

    Google Classroom

  • Check your Google classroom EVERY day. All assignments will be posted in your Google classroom. You will have assignments for all subjects: math, ELA, science, social studies, specials, and any other teachers that you normally would see.
  • Read all directions carefully. It is your responsibility to check your assignments and turn them in on time.
  • When uploading pictures of your work please make sure all pictures are clear and large enough for your teacher to see.
  • Your teacher will make personal comments that only you can see. Please read these comments and respond to your teacher when necessary.
  • Check the stream in your Google classroom, there will be announcements you need to keep up with.

    Virtual Learning Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for keeping up with your work, turning it up on time, and making sure it is neat enough for your teacher to read.
  • Grades will be taken seriously from day one.
  • If you have questions or don’t understand the work, it is your responsibility to ask.
  • It is your responsibility to check your email at least twice a day and respond to your teacher in a timely manner.
  • Attendance will be taken daily.
  • Points will be deducted for late assignments.

Instructions
1. Please log into google classroom each morning to receive your daily assignments.
2. I will be available to answer emails during my office hours. 
3. Please be patient as we all try to figure out virtual school together. Turn around time on emails may fluctuate based on availability of information and number of responses needed. I will do my best to respond to emails as quickly as possible. 
4. I will provide new information as I receive it.
