Car Traffic

Car Traffic

All car traffic – staff, parents, and visitors – must enter the campus by way of Hominy Church Road.  Do not drive through or park in the front bus parking lot.  No parking or unloading is allowed in the small lot adjacent to the gym from 6:00 am until 3:00 pm due to food service deliveries and designated cafeteria staff parking.

School traffic should enter the large school parking lot off Hominy Baptist Church Road and bear to the right.  Traffic will continue to the upper lot.  Student unloading will occur in the designated area adjacent to the sidewalk.  Cars should pull as far forward as possible so that several cars can unload at the same time.  Children should only exit from the passenger side of vehicles.  Students should enter through the middle double doors into the lobby.  Once unloaded, cars may exit through the lower parking lot onto Hominy Baptist Church Road.

For security purposes, no one is allowed to enter the building after 1:50 pm.  If you wish to pick up your student(s), you MUST do so before 1:50 or remain in your automobile and pick up the child in the car-rider line.  Due to Head Start dismissal at 1:45 pm, we request that ALL parents wait until 2:00 pm to begin lining up for afternoon pick-up.

Parents and visitors who wish to enter the building should circle the upper lot and park in the diagonal visitor parking spaces at the west end of the parking lot near the ball field or in the overflow parking below.  A few visitor spaces are also reserved at the west end of the center staff parking area.  Visitors should not park in the staff parking area.  Please realize that children need to be supervised and restrained when walking in the parking lot due to the heavy traffic flow.

Regular car riders will be issued a pick-up card with the child’s name and teacher’s name on the card.  You will display the card on the dash or side window of your car (passenger side).  Your child will be called and will be waiting for you when you arrive at the sidewalk.  Without this card, you will have to follow the standard procedures of parking, coming to the main office, and showing your ID in order to pick up your student(s).

Please be aware that ALL car rider students should be picked up each day by 2:30.  We do not have ample staff to supervise students each day after the car rider line has finished.  If you are unable to pick up your child(ren) by 2:30, you will need to enroll the student in an afterschool childcare program or have them be a bus rider.
